But never both.

Their eyes are blind…

It amazes me the lengths that people will go to to avoid seeing the truth when they don’t want to see the truth.

Why you should believe in my God, and in my Book

without comments

First of all, my Book has never once been proved wrong.

Second of all, my Savior was seen by over five hundred after he rose from the dead.

Third, those various religions and their books that have been claimed to have been “inspired” were all written by one or two men, and they contain little or no prophecy that has been fulfilled. The Bible’s prophecy has been fulfilled in the past, and more of it is being fulfilled all around us today.

Fourth, as I said before, the Bible was written by a couple dozen different men, some of whom never saw or heard each other’s writings. In addition, it was written over the course of over four thousand years. Yet I say again, there is not one contradiction within the entire sixty-six books. I challenge anyone to prove me wrong, from an accurate translation of the Bible.

Lastly, to believe in anything takes a certain amount of faith. LWB, you undoubtedly believe in something. Even those who profess to be agnostic (don’t know if there is a God) believe in something. They believe that there is not one because they have not seen proof of it. The fact is, that following Christ requires faith. Yet, once you have looked at the hard facts, it takes much less faith to believe in Christ than to believe in Buddha, Allah, or any of the other various religions out there.

the continuation of something great

In a script, the characters have “chance” meetings with other characters and circumstances. In life, we have “chance” meetings as well. Of course, neither are actually chance. In the story, they are used to bring the plot to where we want it. In life, God orchestrates events, just like a script-writer. He leads those who do know him to witness to others, and those who do not, to run into those who do. Nothing happens by chance.

Reason #6 that Black History Month is Misguided

It offends me. (Hey, if any yahoo who feels like it can say, “it offends me”, and get it pulled, why can’t I?)

the language of music?

I am a somewhat accomplished musician, and this is referred to often, especially in Christian circles. Wondering what your thoughts are on how music is a language. How does it communicate… especially when it doesn’t have any words?

Times they are’a changin’

without comments

I was reading in the paper yesterday about how AT&T is looking to install a city-wide wi-fi network where I live. Ten years ago, for most people, 56kbs per second was blazing fast. I’m not sure what to think about this idea. If it seems to be secure, I think I’ll get a wireless card and hook up. If it’s not, then maybe I’ll just stick to paying money. I’m not sure I want people stealing my identity. (Though I don’t know why anyone would, since I’m hardly rich enough to be a big find.)

The computer I’m on has an internet telephone connection. That never would have worked very well until hi-speed. Good grief, only fifty years ago, the push-button phone was the big thing. Cordless? Not then, but now, I know somebody whose kid was surprised to learn that there was such a thing as phones with cords.

Now of course, I don’t really remember all these technology changes, since most of them other than computers were before my time, and I haven’t really cared about computers other than for games until a few years ago. But it’s amazing how fast things move these days. And how much time we actually spend devoting our lives to computers.

Not saying yet whether good, bad, or somewhere inbetween, but it just struck me as funny.
