Wit or Wisdom

As the plot begins to take shape, and characters begin to take on character, the story is enhanced.  Once the plot is completed, the script begins in earnest… though often these steps happen out of order. In life, though God has seen and known all that will happen, we have not. From our point of view, the script begins without a plot, or with one entirely different from what it will end up being. We wonder how the plot works, or where events in the story fit into the plot. The master writer knows all though.

Racism today is more often directed at white people than at blacks. Case in point: High schools and colleges give scholarships to black kids who are horrible scholars simply because they are black.

 It treats black people as if they were “different.”

It demands that I as a white person apologize and make up for the sins of my ancestors who lived here a hundred and fifty years ago. The ancestors of mine that were already in the country at the time were not even living in the south, therefore not likely slave owners.

It is the only race that gets a month. There is no such thing as white history month, asian history month, hispanic history month, or anything like that.

A story can be conceived in just about any fashion… a scene… a character… an object. The film I’ve been writing came from a scene. And out of that scene came an character. Out of that character came the main plot… and so on… it’s like in life. Or conversation. It usually just moves and transposes from one thing to the next… without the people involved really noticing. Sure, landmark changes are noticed, but the little things that form life: the habits, acquaintances, thoughts, these are what often eventually bring about the big things that bring about something great.

Some people use any event that is even remotely related to their cause and skew it in their favor. My local paper is against guns…. anytime….anyplace…..anywhere…..and it’s very convenient to their cause when irresponsible people let their eight year olds handle loaded shotguns without knowing how to handle one.
